Zhao Jin Mai) on a rare snowstorm night. With the help of Yin Guo’s cousin, they got to know each other. Lin Yi Yang was once a famous snooker genius; in a match, he unintentionally offended the judge due to the objection of penalty. He was unsatisfied with the judgment and announced his retirement directly. As a result, he quit the professional snooker. Yin Guo’s appearance changed his life; he fell in love with Yin Guo.
Amidst a Snowstorm of Love (2024) – Chinese Drama Review
From the very first scene, the cinematography is breathtaking. Also, shooting abroad with the winter backdrop was legit one of the best decisions made. It doesn’t feel like watching 30 episodes, everything is made so well to make it look like watching an extended movie, you’ll find yourself casually transition to next and next episodes as if on autopilot.
As expected, both Leo Wu and Zhao Jin Mai deliver standout performances. I have to really appreciate Leo Wu‘s portrayal of Lin Yi Yang, how he portrays his character with so much nuance. Man he conveys a range of emotions with just his eyes and even when he’s just… There, he makes every scene impactful. I haven’t seen many actors that have this much captivating aura.
Zhao Jin Mai‘s acting is equally commendable. she bringing grace and authenticity to her role with subtle gestures. I love how she delivers her dialogues expressive and realistic at the same time. They complement each other so so well.
The first 5 episodes were outstanding making it my current favorite romance chinese drama in 2024. My only concern is the potential loss of momentum between episodes 15-30, a common issue in longer cdramas. However, the direction, story pace and acting suggest this wont be a problem here. Anyways, will probably post a progression review later on. We shall see.
